The challenge

Fire, safety & aesthetics

Reshafim’s recently built manufacturing building in Ashkelon is spread over 3 floors, covering approximately 4,500 m2

As part of the new plant’s security, Reshafim sought a wireless technology to provide around 30 office and safety doors with a brand new and affordable access control solution. They wanted no compromises on aesthetics.

Key requirements included:

  • wireless locks compatible with Reshafim’s third-party access control system
  • hardware to control access to both security doors and fire doors
  • an affordable solution to work within Reshafim’s budget
  • access control that could be relied upon to work around the clock, every day of the year

The solution

30 Online escutcheons

As a manufacturer of security, safety and fire doors for commercial and residential markets, Reshafim know what it takes to secure a property. To protect their own site, the choice was Aperio® wireless, battery-powered locks, integrated with a DDS system.

Each wireless escutcheon is linked to the central system via communication hubs.

Flexible & expandable

Employees at the Reshafim plant open doors using standard RFID technology — in this case HID smart-cards. Deployment was straightforward, and can be extended if site needs change or Reshafim wishes to extend access control to bring more locations into the same system.

Changes can be made centrally, in real time, without a portable updater.

"As part of a large investment at the site, we demanded an access control system that worked online and around the clock. Aperio® technology met our needs perfectly."
